Description

A rectangular sisal rug in light beige, a soft, warm neutral.
It’s hard-wearing, non-slip and natural, with all the qualities of one of the most sustainable and versatile plant-based textiles there is.

The sisal weave you choose decides whether the rug looks sturdier, more rustic or more refined. LLANURA gives a room a solid, cosy feel and makes it quieter and calmer. Its natural fibres soften the sounds around them and invite you to walk barefoot.

With its natural look, LLANURA is easy to style and suits almost any interior.

It’s also a rug for every season. In winter sisal brings warmth to a room, and in summer keeps it cool, because the fibre breathes and regulates humidity well.

A sisal rug’s strength comes from its weave: the tighter it is, the stronger the rug. Sisal rugs are generally hard-wearing and work just as well in hallways and busy areas as in dining rooms and living rooms. They look very elegant on porches and at garden entrances, especially where you want a corner to relax in.
Indoors, covering almost the whole floor of a room, they give it a very natural, warm feel.

The plant sisal comes from

Sisal is native to Mexico and comes from a plant called henequen, of which there are several varieties. It’s grown in semi-arid areas and adapts to hot, dry climates. So land that would otherwise be no good for farming can be put to use, and the crop brings jobs, housing, better health, education and support to the people who live there.
Tanzania is a case in point.

That’s why sisal is seen as a textbook example of a sustainable, socially responsible material. It’s grown mainly in Brazil and Africa, and to a lesser extent in other countries. Its fibre is also used in the construction, paper and plastics industries.
