That’s because the plant it comes from is plentiful all over the world and grows back quickly, reaching great heights in a short time. Its fast growth means it can be harvested every year without exhausting or degrading the soil, which helps fight deforestation. A bamboo grove also gives off plenty of oxygen, and it’s said to absorb 40 times more CO₂ than a pine forest in a year.
